Abstract

Digital transformation has generated profound changes in all areas of society, particularly in educational processes. However, the integration of technology into Physical Education continues to represent a challenge for teachers and institutions due to the persistence of traditional pedagogical models focused on conventional motor learning. This dissemination article analyzes the conceptual evolution from Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to Learning and Knowledge Technologies (LKT), highlighting their potential to strengthen teaching and learning processes within Physical Education. Based on evidence reported in recent studies and findings derived from research on the use of ICT and LKT by Physical Education teachers, several innovative strategies are examined, including gamification, WebQuests, mobile learning, interactive digital resources, and hybrid learning environments. Likewise, the article reflects on the structural and training limitations that still hinder the meaningful integration of these technologies into school settings. As an innovative contribution, the Smart Physical Education model is proposed as a pedagogical ecosystem that integrates physical activity, digital culture, collaborative learning, educational analytics, and twenty-first-century competencies. It is concluded that true educational innovation does not depend on the mere incorporation of technological devices, but rather on teachers’ ability to transform information into meaningful learning experiences that promote autonomy, inclusion, and knowledge construction.
